Brand Identity Re-design
Only given a business card, we were tasked with creating an entire brand identity for the existing business without contacting them. We were able to go in any direction that would make sense for the business as a potential real-world application. This was our introduction to client projects prior to working with organizations in order for us to feel comfortable with working within a brand style.
Original business card
When redesigning the brand identity, I wanted to identify and keep the most integral aspects of the brand and amplify that.
From the original business card, I identified the rose as the main mark since it was the only illustrative element on the business card. Keeping the rose, I wanted to add detail to add dimension.
Since the brand mainly marketed itself on heart-centered services, I wanted to make the mark seem personal and organic. With this in mind, I added the hand holding the rose, with a focus on the rose as a metaphor for the services while the hand was just the gentle vessel for those services.
When adding color, I wanted to maintain a similar color palette to that of a typical rose in order to be easily identified.
Regarding typography, I wanted to continue crafting the design to be personal and organic, while still being professional. I landed on Look Script as the primary type while being paired with Myriad Pro as the right combination for being personal and professional.
