Minnesota Renaissance Festival
Social Media Design
To help engagement with the community and to provide information, I help design social media posts for the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, one of the most visited renaissance festivals in the country with over 300,000 visitors annually.
Sometimes I have to include a specific image based on the post’s content
For these posts, I focus on creating contrast between the different text by using hierarchy and color to optimize engagement.
Less, larger text = people are more likely to read it before they continue scrolling
These posts mainly use the brand colors since the other post styles frequently use other colors.

Other times, the post is mainly text-based with limited images or illustrations
For these posts, I make the image the focal point while having all of the text be easily readable.
I typically use a gradient to add contrast in the area that the text is and use a clear hierarchy so that individuals can quickly see the main content of the post while scrolling.

For holidays or season-specific posts, I am able to have more creative freedom
For these posts, I tend to create illustrations in order to create a more dynamic social media feed.
This way, we are more likely to retain followers since they are not always seeing posts that all look the same.
With how much we post, it’s important to make our feed as fun and inviting as possible!
